Come to the Big Red Barn and taste some of the best tree ripened fruit. Stroll through the orchard and learn how this fruit is grown. The fruit is picked fresh daily off trees grown in Yakima Valley's rich volcanic soil. Enjoy these mouth-watering cherries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, pears and apples.

The Barrett's host several events throughout the year.

In 1918, William Barrett moved to Selah, Washington from Oklahoma and started the first generation of Barrett Orchards in the Yakima Valley. As one of the first families of orchardists in the Yakima Valley, William and his family maintained 7 acres of apples without irrigation. William's son, Lester Barrett became part of the work crew for the Yakima-Tieton irrigation district's effort to provide water to the West Valley of Yakima, where he soon started his own orchard and began to raise a family of 5 children. His son Robert Barrett attended Washington State University and returned home to purchase an orchard that he maintained for 41 years. His son Mark is the latest generation of Barrett's to own an orchard in the valley, after he too returned from WSU and started an apple orchard in 1979. From 20 acres of apples and pears to upwards of 200 acres, he leased orchards until market trends changed in the 90's. Mark and his family now operate about 60 acres of orchards, including cherries, peaches, nectarines, apricots, and apples. Recently, his wife Cheryl has moved her merchandise from the Washington Fruit Place gift shop to the newly constructed barn on Pecks Canyon road. The Barrett's have combined the convenience and quality of tree-ripened fruit and the valley's best Washington State and fruit themed gift ideas to provide a unique experience for travelers and locals alike.
