One area is set up for just Civil War soldiers. The crews of the HL Hunley were brought to their final rest here. There are several interesting tombs here. One is a pyramid. This is a very large cemetery. There are many of the prominent families of Charleston buried here. There are also other cemeteries surrounding Magnolia Cemetery. KAT'S VIEW The Magnolia Cemetery was very very big. They had the crew from the Hunley there. There was a crypt that was shaped like a pyramid. There were tons of Civil War stuff and lots of unknown soldiers. There were several headstones and crypts. You seriously need a car there, don't even think of walking the length of this place. It would take days , maybe weeks. Well, not that long, but at least of few hours. |
