Location of South Carolina Aquarium South Carolina Aquarium Your trip through the aquarium starts at the mountain bog and continues down the mountain through the rivers and streams all the way to the deep blue ocean. Find toads and turtles in the bog. Watch the otters play in the waterfall and pond. See the trout and other fish natural to the mountain streams. Find snakes and alligators on the coastal plain in freshwater swamps and marshes. On the coast there are seahorses, jelly fish, turtles, and many other creatures to fascinate you. Go underwater in the deep ocean and you find an abundance of sea life including sharks, loggerhead turtles, and many other large and small fish. The kids will really enjoy the touch tank. Sea Urchins, crabs, starfish and other are waiting to thrill you. At the time of our visit, there was anew exhibit, 'Secrets of the Amazon'. There were electric eels and anaconda. There were the brightest frogs in blue, yellow and green. And the four-eyed fish were strange. KAT'S VIEW The South Carolina Aquarium was really cool. There were two types of jellyfish. In the Amazon exhibit you can feel what it feels like to be stung by an electric eel. There was a cool touch tank. The sea urchin sides feel like jelly and if you touch it on the top it will close up on you. They had an adult loggerhead turtle and a baby loggerhead as well. |
