The Regional Museum was established in 1961 to showcase the history of Spartanburg County. There are many interesting artifacts to see. One is the Pardo Stone. This was found in 1934 on a farm near Inman. It is believed to have been left as a route marker in 1567 by Spanish explorer Juan Pardo.

There is also an extensive doll collection. Most are from the 1800's and early 1900's. There is even an early Raggedy Ann and Andy. There are exhibits and information about the textile industry that was very important to the area. You will enjoy the many artifacts and exhibits including the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and Camp Croft.

KAT'S VIEW

The museum was nice. They had a thing where you can try weaving. It's not really hard at all. It's actually easy. They also had a permanent wave machine, or in other words, the electric chair! The hair curler looked deadly. Then there was a model of the Chicago sign. There were lots of little planks on it with mileage to different cities.
