Location of President’s Alpine Slide President’s Alpine Slide The President's Slide, located about 2 1/2 miles from Mount Rushmore, is the Black Hills' newest family attraction, offering vacation fun for the whole family. The alpine slide is accompanied by a sight-seeing chairlift offering a scenic view of historic Keystone and a unique view of the presidents at Mount Rushmore. Those vacationers not feeling quite so adventurous can ride the chairlift back down. Small children can experience this thrilling Black Hills attraction by riding down the alpine slide with a parent, thereby providing the whole family an adventure of a lifetime. Your adventure begins with a scenic chair lift ride up to a mountain park area at the top of the hill. There, experience the outdoor Grille’s awesome burgers and brats, ice-cold beer and soft drinks, and ice cream. Enjoy the unique view of Mt. Rushmore, the panoramic scenery, the waterfalls and flower gardens. When you're ready to descend, take the chair lift back down or . . . . climb in a sled and take a thrilling ride on the alpine slide! Riders go at their own pace in wheeled sleds equipped with handbrakes. Side by side tracks each offer 2000 feet of fun, with dips and high-banked corners included. |
