San Antonio, the 9th largest city in the United States, is a unique Texas city where centuries of history mixes with brand new skyscrapers. San Antonio was founded in 1718 when Father Antonio Olivares established Mission San Antonio de Valero, later renamed as The Alamo. Strolling through downtown San Antonio, you will find several historic buildings including the Alamo, the San Fernando Cathedral, Market Square, and the Spanish Governor's Palace. Northeast of downtown lies historic Fort Sam Houston.

Another must-see for anyone who visits San Antonio is the "River Walk," a cobblestone and flagstone path that borders both sides of the San Antonio River as it meanders through downtown. San Antonio is also home to major theme parks like Six Flags and Sea World and two impressive art museums.
