Location of Crabtree Falls Crabtree Falls Located on Route 56, just south of the Blue Ridge Parkway, is Crabtree Falls. Hike the short path to the bottom of the falls. The path is paved and handicap accessible. The view is beautiful. The stream tumbles down the rocks through a series of falls. This is a great picturesque area to stop for a picnic. The trail to the rest of the falls is moderate in difficulty. The trail rises a great deal in elevation. I would not recommend taking children under 5 up this part of the trail unless you plan on carrying them! For those who do venture up this trail, there are many look-out sites throughout the series of falls. As you can see in the views below, they are very picturesque falls and the view is worth the hike. KAT'S VIEW Several small falls were coming down the creek. It was very nice here. The trail was very pretty, but it was steep. I like coming down better than going up! Instead of one big fall the water fell in several small falls. |
