Located in the valley to the west of the crossroads between the Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway, Waynesboro is a small town that was founded in 1797. It was named after General "Mad Anthony" Wayne. Downtown is a pedestrian friendly environment where there are museums, arts and cultural centers, unique restaurants, and lodging. It is home of the private Fishburne Military School that was founded in 1879. It is also home to P. Buckley Moss, one of America's most celebrated and popular artists.
