USS Battleship Wisconsin
One Waterside Drive
Norfolk, Virginia 23510
Voice: 757-444-8971

The Battleship Wisconsin is an Iowa-Class battleship. As you step aboard, one of the most impressionable parts of the ship you see are the huge 16 inch guns. Walk up to the front of the ship and look back. You can just imagine the awesome power of these guns.

You can only walk around the outside of this ship because it is still an active Navy ship kept in ready reserve. It is kept ready for action should the need arise. It has not been de-commissioned as many of the other ships that you can tour.

After you view the guns then you can go from front to back exploring several areas as you go. See the Patriot missile launchers that were used in Desert Storm. You can look in and see some of the officers quarters as well.

KAT'S VIEW

The USS Wisconsin battleship was cool. The size of the anchor and chain was amazing. If your foot got caught in the chain you wouldn't be able to move it. Each little chain link weighed more than 100 pounds. The cabins looked interesting but you couldn't go inside of them unfortunately.
