Nauticus the National Maritime Center
Nauticus, the National Maritime Center
Nauticus is a fun museum with lots of hands-on activities. There are constantly changing traveling exhibits that make this a place to visit over and over again.
One of the exciting highlights for the kids is the shark touch tank. There are nurse sharks of various sizes. There are also several games that are fun yet teach about the sea and the machines we use in the sea. the science and technology that has been developed begins here with the interest of a child that develops into a desire to change the world.
Enjoy your exploration through Nauticus and most of all have fun with the many exciting experiences.
The Maritime Center was really cool. I got to pet a shark. It felt weird. They were only nurse sharks so they were really lazy and they wouldn't try to bite. There was a bunch of games, too. You could fly a plane, which I was terrible at. I went into outer space! Another game was to steer a boat, which was confusing for me, but mom and dad were able to do it. Also there was a board with lights on it to answer questions.
