Located at the corner of Kempsville Road and Providence Road in the Fairfield Shopping center, you will find one of the best restaurants for BBQ ribs and chicken in Virginia Beach. This is not just my opinion. Frankie's Place for Ribs has been voted "Best of the Beach" every year by "Virginian Pilot" publication (over 12 years in a row now). What's their secret? "Look for quality to start with" says Mike, the owner. They look for the highest quality baby back ribs they can find, not the cheapest. Then the tender, meaty ribs are smoked and marinated in Frankie's secret BBQ sauce. They are then charcoal grilled to produce that delicious hickory smoked flavor. If the ribs don't have your mouth watering, try one of their Certified Angus Beef steaks. Get it char-grilled just the way you want it.

Frankie's is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. They also have carry out so you can order ahead and pick it up on the way home. Or if you prefer, they also have delivery. And I do mean delivery, whether you are around the corner or across the world. If you live nearby, you can have your ribs delivered piping hot. Anywhere else in the world and you can have it shipped to you. They will fully cook your ribs and then freeze them. All you have to do is warm them up and you can enjoy Frankie's delicious ribs anywhere.

What is great food without great service? The staff here is professional and friendly. Several have been working for Frankie's since they opened 16 years ago! You will always see a friendly, familiar face every time you come in. Anyone working here less than five years is considered "the new kid"! They know their ribs and if you are a regular, they know you and know what you like. Frankie's is well known in their neighborhood with a majority of their customers frequent visitors.

Frankie's is a busy restaurant and many times there is a waiting list. However, the wait is not usually very long. You can have a cocktail while you are waiting if you like. They have a small full service bar that is separate from the restaurant seating. The bar is not a big area because Frankie's is a family place. Kids are welcome and there is a terrific menu for those under 12.

When you're thinking ribs, you're thinking Frankie's.
