Enjoy a peaceful stay at Colonial Gardens when you
vacation in Williamsburg. The former home of Dean White, the former dean
of the Law School at William and Mary, has been comfortably furnished for its
guests. You can stay in one of the 4 unique rooms. There is the
Rhododendron Suite that has a beautiful bed and nice sitting area. As with
all the rooms it is nicely furnished and not cluttered and of course each room
has a private bathroom. The Azalea Suite is a two room suite. There
is a sitting room that has a daybed if you have an extra person in your party.
The bedroom has a beautiful canopy bed. The Primrose Room is like entering
an English cottage. It is light and airy and overlooks the beautiful front
garden. Downstairs is the Library room. This is a smaller room that
was the library of Dean White. It has a colonial feel and the walls have
the original bookshelves with a nice collection of books.
Breakfast each morning is served in the elegant dining
room. The menu varies each day, but you are sure to enjoy it. Next
to the dining room is a great sunroom with wicker furniture where you can sit
and relax and watch the birds flitting around the backyard gardens. There
are many bird feeders scattered through the gardens and there are several
varieties of birds that enjoy them. Also in the sunroom there are snacks, coffee
and soft drinks available to the guests throughout the day.
Wander through the house and view all the terrific
paintings and drawings that your host has done. He has also made the doll
house that is in the front room.
You will enjoy your stay here and I'll let you in on a little secret. If
you are here for a birthday or anniversary, you will find a lovely bouquet for
you in your room!
