This private wooded hide-away is tucked into the country just minutes from Charlottesville. Dawson's Country Place has 20 acres with an herb and vegetable garden, fruit trees, fish pond, and over 2 miles of walking trails. Abundant birds, turkey, deer, and other wildlife roam the property. The entire 279 acre farm has been in your hostess, Margaret Dawson's family since before the Revolutionary War. Civil War battles were fought on this land with bunkers still visible.

Margaret and John Dawson have two guest suites to choose from on your stay. Both have a private bath, telephone, TV with VCR, and a double sofa bed. Each in its own section of the house offers you privacy. You are also welcome to use the front parlor and the formal dining room.

The Romantic Rose Suite is a lower level suite that has a high queen bed in the bedroom. There are also nice large dressers. The sitting room has a nice bookshelf full of books and games for your enjoyment. The dining area has table and chairs plus a nice wood stove. There is a small refrigerator and a microwave. The large bathroom has a whirlpool tub.

The Cozy Green Suite is on the upper level and has an extra long double bed in the bedroom. This suite is smaller than the Rose Suite, however it is quite cozy and comfortable. It has a combo sitting/dining area and a separate kitchen with a small refrigerator, hot plate, toaster oven, toaster and coffee maker. The bathroom has a nice skylight.

Breakfast is a meal of your choice served in your preferred setting of the formal dining room, outside deck, informal country kitchen, or delivered to your suite. Your choices on the menu are more varied than many restaurants have! You can choose an a la carte breakfast with choices of homemade breads, cereals, fruits and juices. The Country Breakfast choices include meat (bacon, sausage, ham) eggs, biscuits or muffins, and fruit or juice. The Gourmet Breakfast choices include pancakes or waffles with a variety of toppings to choose from and a choice of meats. The Connoisseur Breakfast has choices of Eggs Benedict, omelet, or Welsh Rarebit and also fruits or juice. There is a variety of beverages to choose from including coffee, tea, milk, and hot chocolate.

This is a great place for a quiet get-away with lots of privacy and fresh country air.
