Come on out to Pohick Bay Regional Park and Golf Course, the place for your family and friends to relax, play, and stay. The Indians called this land "Pohick," the Algonquin word for the "water place." Today, Pohick Bay is still the water place, a water oriented 1000 plus acre park located just 25 miles south of Washington, DC.

The park is on a spectacular bayside setting on the historic Mason Neck peninsula. In early times George Washington visited the area frequently. Today, Mason Neck is an ecologically fragile land that shelters a profusion of wildlife, especially the bald eagle. Thousands of acres have been set aside for wildlife and recreational opportunities on Mason Neck.

The family campground is open year round and has rustic sites and electric hook-up sites. They now have new rustic cabins that have a double bed, set of bunk beds, futon, table and chairs, AC/Heat, plus a grill and picnic table. The family campground has a camp store, hot showers, laundry rooms, and each space has a fire ring and picnic table. The spaces are large with lots of room for fun and games.

The Wilson Campground is for organized youth groups only. Reservations are required for your group to camp here.

The park also has a boat launch for you to take your boat out onto the Potomac for a day of fun. There are also boat rentals. They have pedal boats, sailboats, Jon boats, single kayaks, and canoes.

The park also has an outdoor swimming pool. This is a large pool with many depths varying from 2 1/2 feet to 13 feet. There are several lifeguards on duty. There is also a toddlers pool for the little ones to play in.

The park has miniature golf, disc golf, lots of picnic tables, and large and small group shelters. The large shelters are for groups up to 100 and the small shelters can handle 50 guests. There are miles of nature trails and bridle trails to explore.

The golf course is a picturesque 18 hole, par 72, championship course on rolling terrain with tree lined fairways. The course design will allow golfers to utilize every club and aspect of their golf game. The course plays 6405 yards from the tips and has a course rating of 71.7 with a slope rating of 131. There are many amenities including a full-service Pro Shop, driving range, practice putting green and chipping green. There is also food and beverage concessions.
