Location of Toppenish Murals Toppenish Murals Several murals of Toppenish are the reason why Toppenish has become known as the “City of Murals”. The first murals were painted in 1989 as an experiment to help clean up the town and bring in tourists. They were, and still are, inspired by the western heritage of the city. You can enjoy a tour of these murals throughout downtown Toppenish on a wagon ride. The Mural-in-a-day project became a cultural celebration in the town. During this annual event, you can watch several artists paint an entire mural in one day. This festival is held on the first Saturday of June every year. Pictures of Toppenish Murals were taken by Darryl Franklin |
