Point Defiance Park
Point Defiance Park is 702 acres, one of the largest parks in the United States with numerous unique points of interest. Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium is one of the most popular locations within the park. Another is Owen Beach, where visitors can fish, rent a kayak, grill, have a picnic, take photos of scenery and ferry to Vashon Island. To stop and smell the flowers, stroll through the rose or rhododendron garden. Fort Nisqually offers re-enactment tours showcasing life in between 1833-1869 when the fort was an operating trading post. For a sense of the past, breathe in oxygen among the trees of an old-growth forest. Other attractions are: Never Never Land Family Picnic and Playground, a restaurant, Go-Karts and Batting Cages, Hiking and Running Trails, a Logging museum, and a lodge and pagoda which are popular event rentals. Point Defiance Park is a wonderful location to learn and play with loved ones.
