Chehalis is a small town on I-5 midway between Seattle and Portland, Oregon. History buffs are sure to appreciate their time in Chehalis as they tour the downtown and two residential districts that are on the National Register of Historic Places. The original turn-of-the-century train depot is home to the Lewis County Historical Museum which features displays of an old-time parlor, kitchen, school house and early 20th century logging equipment. Chehalis' central location puts it right in the middle of an abundance of outdoor recreation. From town, you can take day trips to hike on the many trails of the Cascade Mountains and the Olympic Peninsula, visit Mount Rainier, Mount Adams and Mount St. Helens, ski at White Pass, or fish in any of the lakes and rivers in the area. |
