Washington State 123 - Cayuse Pass
Washington State Highway 123 - Cayuse Pass
Washington State Dot
Washington Cayuse Pass, Highway 123. Is a wonderful drive in the summer and early fall. It is closed for several months each year due to the snow fall and sometimes damage due to the snow run off. When Cayuse is open, and you're in the area, take the time to drive one of Washington State's prettiest highways. Starting at the south you get on to Highway 12 and head north through Mount Rainier National Park. You may go to Longmire or head to Paradise. You may just take the drive north to Highway 410. If you decide to take this drive make sure you take the short drive east to Tipsoo Lake. It is a fantastic place and has to be one of the prettiest Lakes in North America. The back drop of Mt. Rainier sets Lake Tipsoo above the rest.
