Wenas Lake has been a popular fishing spot for many years in the Yakima area. It has become famous for large rainbow and brown trout. Fish up to 8 pounds are caught every year. You can also catch a catfish or two.
Wenas lake is located west of Selah on North Wenas Road. The easiest way to get there by taking Selah Loop Road to Gore Road (turn right at the "Y"). Gore Road will then turn into South Wenas Road. Take South Wenas Road to Longmire Lane. When Longmire Lane reaches North Wenas Road, turn left and follow it to the lake.
You may keep 5 trout with no minimum size limit, but no more than two can be Brown trout. Statewide regulations apply for all other species.
Due to the severe drought conditions this summer, the water level in the lake is extremely low. Normally, Wenas is twice as big as these pictures show.
