Snug Harbor at Rimrock Landing, formerly known as Twelve West, was built in the 1940s on Rimrock Lake. Mike and Cathy Masters, an aeronautical engineer from Canada and an attorney from Prosser, Washington, decided this was their dream and bought the resort July 1, 2001.

Located about 40 miles west of Yakima near White Pass, Snug Harbor features over 30 RV spaces, two cozy cabins, tenting spots with panoramic views, a family restaurant, a boat launch and more than 50 boat slips. Both cabins feature wraparound decks and breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains and rent for $100 a night with a two-night minimum. They are also available for monthly or seasonal use.

Tent camping is available by the day and RV sites (most with full hook-ups, others with water and electric only) are available by the day, week, month, season or year. All campers have the convenience of an on-site bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets where you can clean up after a long day of fishing and exploring. The Resort also boasts no mosquitoes!

The Rimrock Landing Restaurant at Snug Harbor serves up "the best hamburgers on the mountain." Delicious fish and chips, chicken fillet sandwiches and all-beef hotdogs top the list as well - and the incredible view is free! But be sure to save room for "Cathyís Chocolate Creation" - a milkshake of hot fudge and peanut butter that is beyond belief!

The boat launch is one of the best on the lake due to its even grade and protection from choppy water. The cost is $7.00 to launch a boat. Moorage is available at the docks by the day, week, month or season. Gas for your boat is also found at Snug Harbor - the only available spot to gas up on Rimrock Lake.

The area surrounding Snug Harbor is full of beautiful scenery, plenty of recreation and lots of wildlife. Both Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens are just a short drive away, and if you take a stroll on one of the nature trails in the area, donít be surprised to see any variety of birds, raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, deer or elk. Rimrock Lake provides great fishing if you like trout or kokanee salmon (silvers) and is also a great place to water ski, jet ski, or get pulled around in an innertube! Fed by glacial snow pack, Rimrock Lake is very chilly, but the lagoon at Snug Harbor provides a perfect spot for swimming since itís a little shallower, a little warmer and even comes with a rope swing! But before you begin your day on the water, stop in at the Bait Shop to stock up on bait, lures specific to Rimrock Lake, soda pop, chips, ice, ice cream and other goodies.
