Scottish Festival Events:

Caber Toss (Mens & Womens)

A perfect Caber Toss is a 12 o'clock throw after the caber turns 180 degrees and lands - not bounces - and stops in alignment with the competitor. The best two attempts to count. Competitors may take any length run they wish and toss from where they choose. Mens' Caber is 14' 7.5" and Womens' is 8' 3.5".

56lb. for Distance (Men)

Using a 56# weight with a handle, with one hand (we use both hands) and a 9' approach allowed. The best of two throws counts.

56lb. for Height (Men)

Two throws at each height are allowed over a bar similar to the pole vault.

Sheaf Toss (Men)

A 16lb. bag of straw thrown by pitchfork over a crossbar by any method, with two throws at each height.

Stone Put (Mens & Womens)

Throw a stone for distance. Best of two throws by each competitor to the nearest break of the ground.

Rolling Pin Toss (Womens)

Knock a ball off a pole. Throw it four times, scoring two points for a direct hit on the ball and one point for a hit on the pole causing the ball to fall.

Hammer Throw (Mens & Womens)

Throw a hammer for distance. best of two throws by each competitor to the nearest break of the ground. Men throw a 16# hammer and women throw an 8#.

7:00 p.m. Awards
