The name "Sol Duc," which means "sparkling water," was given to the hot springs by the Quileute Indians. The first resort was built on the site in 1912 and attracted over 10,000 visitors each year before it burned just a few years later. Today, Sol Duc Hot Springs is one of the most popular attractions in the Olympic National Park.

For a small fee, you can spend a day relaxing in the 100 degree waters of the mineral springs or take a swim in the chlorinated pool. If you wish to extend your stay, you can take advantage of one of the National Park campgrounds or you can stay in one of the Resort's cabins.

Whether you stay for a week or only a day, a dip in the hot spring water is a great way to melt away the stress of daily life or soothe those aching muscles after a day of exploring the Olympic National Park.
