Location of Afton Mountain Vineyards Winery Afton Mountain Vineyards Winery Tom and Shinko Corpora welcome you to Afton Mountain Vineyards. Afton Mountain is one of Virginia's pioneer farm wineries with vines dating from the late 1970's. A small production, they produce about 2000 cases per year. They make the Virginia standards of Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc and then they produce some that are rare in the state. These are the Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, and Sangiovese. They are currently producing their first vintage of Tete De Cuvee, a brut sparkling wine. They hope to have it ready for release in the summer or fall of 2005. Each year they have a Summer Open House where they have food made by Shinko and release some of their new vintages. Come on out for a tour, tasting, and good old fashioned fun. The vineyards and winery are open for wine tasting and picnics everyday except Tuesday from March through December. In January and February they are open Friday through Monday. |
