Hill Top Berry Farm and Winery offers something different from the ordinary. Go back to the dark ages when the Vikings and Romans tread the earth. Learn about the origin of the world's oldest alcoholic beverages known as meads. Taste the Blue Ridge Mountain Mead, made in the tradition of the drink of the Vikings. It is a traditional honey mead wine made strictly from honey and is the oldest fermented beverage. Try the Roman favorite, Pyment, which they make in two different styles. The traditional style is made the way the Roman's preferred to drink it, sweet. The modern style is made more for today's tastes in a dry, less sweet version. The Rockfish River Cyser dates back to the middle ages. The Monasteries in England made this apple blend.

Hill Top also produces over a dozen "True to the Fruit" Virginia wines made from many different fruits and berries. There are several different flavors and even people who are not wine drinkers are sure to find one they like. Some of the flavors they have for you to try are blackberry, blueberry, peach, apple, raspberry, cranberry, cherry, and pear. Some are produced dry and some are more sweet. Some of them will surprise you.

This family run winery has their tasting room open 11 am to 5 pm Wednesday through Saturday and 1 pm to 5 pm on Sunday. They also have indoor and outdoor meeting facilities and a picnic area with a lovely view of the berry vines and the surrounding mountains.
