Location of King Family Vineyards Winery King Family Vineyards Winery Planting their vines in 1999, the King family built the winery production area and tasting room in 2002. With 15 acres of grapes, they produce around 3000 cases per year. Michael Shaps is their winemaker. He was schooled and trained in Burgundy, France. They produce their award winning wines under two labels, "King Family Vineyards" and Michael Shaps. Open daily from 11 am to 5 pm you will enjoy a trip to this beautiful vineyard. As you drive up the lane to the tasting room, you are awarded a sweeping view of the rolling green lawns and the polo field along with the beauty of the hillside. Come into the tasting room and sample these award winning red, white, and dessert wines. You will want to take a bottle of your favorite home or have it on the patio with a cheese and cracker platter as you enjoy the scenery. When asking the King family why they are in the wine business they have many reasons including the enjoyment they receive. But mostly to quote them. "We love the beauty of the Virginia countryside and its traditions of gracious hospitality and hope that our winery is a compliment to both."
