Location of Woodland Vineyard Winery Woodland Vineyard Winery Opened to the public in December 2004, the Woodland Vineyard is a small family run operation. Their first year has produced four wines. These are a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Merlot, a Chardonnay, and a Vidal Blanc the call 'Woodsong'. Just a small operation, the wines are only marketed around the Richmond area at this time. The outdoor patio tasting area is open on Saturday and Sunday 1pm to 4pm from mid-April through mid-December. Other times for your private or group tour and tasting can be arranged by appointment. Their scenic woodland patio offers a quiet relaxing setting where you are welcome to bring a picnic lunch. Owners Melissa and Frederick has a philosophy of "Quality First" that goes into every bottle. From crusher to barrel to bottle, every step is carefully monitored. Once in the bottle, the wine is aged till it's ready for your table before being offered for sale. Keeping with "Quality First", they are slowly expanding the operation on their new vineyards outside Lynchburg, VA. To get to the Woodland Vineyard, take Powhite Parkway South until it ends at the traffic light for Charter Colony Parkway. Take a left onto Charter Colony Parkway and then turn right at the intersection onto Genito Road. Cross the Swift Creek Reservoir and watch for their sign on the left. |
